Rotary Club of East Montgomery County members were happy to present Russell Leatherman with New Beginning Resouces, Inc. (NBRI), a check for $7,599.03. These funds, raised at the Rotary Golf Tournament, help subsidize tuition for students at La Generacion School in Guatemala.
In 2004, NBRI members visited San Pedro Jocopilas, Guatemala, in search of ministry opportunities. They met Pastor Eliseo Gonzales, who pastors at La Iglesia "Torre Fuerte." He had a desire and vision to reach the next generation of Guatemalans with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He wanted to start a school to provide a Christ-centered, quality education that would allow him and his staff to bring the children of his community to faith in Jesus Christ. In 2010, "Colegio Evangelico La Generacion" opened its doors and has grown from 17 to 118 students.
