Rotarians were happy to hear from Dr. Katherine Persson, retired Lone Star College-Kingwood President, at their monthly luncheon.   One of Katherine’s retirement projects was to attend the Master Gardener Class in Conroe.  She has completed her class and shared her knowledge on the benefits of trees. The Rotary Club of EMC’s  focus this quarter is Protecting the Environment and Providing Clean Water, so her topic was spot. Additionally, Katherine is an author! Dr. Persson wrote Overcoming Obstacles to share about how LSC-K overcame after Hurricane Harvey and other leaders in similar situations.

Club President Suann Hereford will donate a children’s book, The Shortest Day Celebrating the Winter Solstice by Wendy Pfieffer, to Timber Lakes Elementary in Katherine’s honor.  Thank you, Dr. Persson, for sharing your passion and wisdom with the Rotary Club!
