This quarter, Rotary Club of East Montgomery County members focus on protecting the environment and providing clean water.
San Jacinto River Authority General Manager Jace Houston was the perfect speaker for the Rotarians' May meeting. Jace Houston
Created by the Texas Legislature in 1937, the San Jacinto River Authority is a government agency whose mission is to develop, conserve, and protect the water resources of the San Jacinto River basin. Covering all or part of seven counties, the organization’s jurisdiction includes the entire San Jacinto River watershed, excluding Harris County. The San Jacinto River Authority’s boundaries include all of Montgomery County and parts of Walker, Waller, San Jacinto, Grimes, Fort Bend, and Liberty Counties. Jace Houston has served as general manager of the SJRA since 2012. Prior to his employment there, he served as general counsel for Harris Galveston Subsidence District.

To show their appreciation for him speaking, a book will be donated in Jace's honor to Splendora ISD's Timber Lakes Elementary.
