At the beginning of the year, Infinity Early College High School students Jose Mendez, Yendry Rojas, and Karen Sanchez participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) event. These juniors were selected by the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County and their school's faculty and administration.
At the Rotary Club’s February 7th luncheon, the RYLA students and their sponsor Nelly Lascano gave a brief overview of their experience at the retreat. RYLA 2023 was held at Pineywoods Camp in Woodlake, TX, January 6-8, and is an intensive leadership training retreat for high school juniors. Students learn to enhance their leadership skills, encourage civic engagement, and foster personal growth. All three students agreed that the skills they learned at the retreat would help them in every aspect of their lives.
