The Rotary Club of East Montgomery County had the pleasure of hearing from representatives of Chase's Chapters, a non-profit organization founded by the parents of Chase DeLarios. Their mission is to ensure that every child, regardless of socioeconomic status, has access to their own book.
Chase's journey began when he started 1st grade below the average reading level, struggling with basic texts. However, everything changed when he entered Ms. Butler’s class. With her encouragement and support, Chase blossomed into a confident reader, eagerly tackling everything from the Chick-fil-A specials sign to bedtime stories for his little sister. This transformation sparked a shift in Chase’s personality. The frustrated boy became a shining star known for his kindness and generosity. Chase’s story illustrates the profound impact of reading on a child’s life, igniting curiosity and imagination.
Sadly, Chase was struck and killed by a car while riding his bicycle. In memory of Chase, Chase's Chapters aims to provide children without access to books the opportunity to discover their potential and change the world. The Rotary Club is proud to support initiatives like Chase's Chapters that foster a love of reading and empower the next generation.
